Services we offer
Initial consultation
The first step is to meet with you for an initial consultation, to get to know you and find out your objectives and what sort of help you would like. We will sit down and have a chat about your ideas, lifestyle and what you want from the garden, then walk around the garden with you before discussing some initial thoughts.
We can then work out with you what help you would like:
Landscape design
Planting plan and plant list
Sourcing plants
The initial consultation is $280 payable in advance, together with travel time. The consultation is generally for 90 minutes. It also forms the basis for a brief to be prepared for the next stages if you proceed.

Concept plan
Following acceptance of a proposal, we provide you with a brief for confirmation, visit to review the site and then prepare a Concept plan using a base plan to lay out the structure of the garden, with suggestions for major plantings, garden structures and paths. We will visit to talk you through the Concept plan, incorporate any feedback and then return to present the final plan.
The Concept plan is an overall guide for how to organise your garden and how it will look, together with photographic images to help convey the look and feel. For some people this is enough to go on with themselves. If that is what you would like to do, that is great. If you encounter any issues or want more help as you progress, we can always come for another consultation (at agreed rates).
Master plan
Following agreement on the Concept plan, if we are providing a full design service, the next step is a Master plan, which is a more refined plan that provides additional details for materials, surfaces, finishes and paths (we do not provide construction details, which is done by the landscape constuction company), and is accompanied by a planting plan. We are happy to help you by introducing you to trades and construction people we know for you to decide who you would like to help you with this stage.
Planting plan and plant list
Along with the Master plan, we provide a Planting plan and plant list. This is a plan showing the location of plants and a list of plants, together with the details you will need for purchasing and planting, including plant varieties (botanical names and common names), plant numbers and pot sizes. This is unique for each garden and will depend on the site and the final concept.
If hard landscaping has already been completed when we are engaged, we can provide the Planting plan and plant list as a stand-alone service.
Plant sourcing
We can discuss with you the best way to source plants to meet you needs. We can help source plants from reputable growers, put you in touch with an experienced plant sourcing service or suggest retail outlets, depending on the plants and quantities.
Oversight of plant placement is a service we offer for implementation of the planting plan regardless of the plant sourcing, to ensure the integrity of the design.
